Dressing up makes these gals appreciate comfortable modern clothes (and pants!).
Your Give Methow donation in October supports education programs, including free field trips for MV 4th graders studying Washington state history and the Oregon Trail.
GIVE METHOW is a great way to donate to the Shafer Museum
plus ALL the places you love in the Methow.
The Museum isn’t just a place for dusty old stuff (although that is the “preserve” part of the mission) but a community of people who teach, learn and discover stories about the past that are tied to our present and future. Your gift will support that sharing - through new children’s programs, hands-on activities for all ages, and new signs around the museum. You’ll also be supporting artifact care like wood oil, re-welding Methow Valley icons like the Hart’s Pass narrow body pickup truck, or simply funding the electricity that stabilizes the climate for archival boxes old, precious and irreplaceable “stuff.”
Whether it’s education or preserving the things of our past, your gift is vital to the operations of your local history museum.
Thank you for contributing to the future of Methow Valley history!
In addition to the Shafer Museum, may we suggest other heritage and culture organizations to support? Methow Descendants is a brand-new non-profit run by tmətx̌ʷu/Methow People, who have inhabited the Methow Valley since time immemorial and supports x̌ʷnámx̌ʷnam/Hummingbird Ranch and their And, the Methow Valley Interpretive Center shares indigenous knowledge and natural history. The Public School Funding Alliance supports transportation for field trips, like the MVE 4th grade visiting the Shafer Museum, as well as many programs after school that make for a well-rounded education. There are so many great organizations to choose from!
Give Methow is a great way to make your charitable gifts to Methow Valley organizations in one stop.
Can't choose or want to make a gift that benefits all the participating not-for-profits? Donate to "Give to All" and your gift will be matched up to $50,000 thanks to an anonymous and very generous donor who loves the Methow Valley.
The Minimum gift is just $10 and 100% goes to the organizations you support - the Community Foundation of NCW covers the credit card fees which usually take about 3% of your credit card transaction. Donate on a Monday to make it a Fun-day - you'll be entered to win $1,000 to donate on Give Methow any way you choose!
Annual Members support sharing, preserving and learning our collective history in the Methow Valley. Your gift is tax deductible after the first $25. Memberships renew annually.
